Freddie Rick, Founder and CEO

Entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and enigmatic, BetterTrades founder and CEO Freddie Rick has long held the belief that learning to take control of your finances is the key to a better life. As founder of BetterTrades, Freddie provides the vision and makes the executive decisions that have enabled BetterTrades to grow from an idea into a very successful stock market education company. Freddie began by identifying the methods and strategies that take advantage of opportunities presented by the stock market. His passion for teaching and his ability to simplify complex subjects have made it possible for many of BetterTrades students to take control of their finances and make their own trading decisions. Freddie and his wife Mitzi, his biggest supporter and most trusted adviser, live in West Virginia. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Mitzi Rick, Co-Founder

BetterTrades co-founder Mitzi Rick has been by her husband's side for each step of the company's rapid growth. Considered by many – including her husband – to be the heart and soul of the company, she has seen it grow from a basement office to one of the most recognized companies in the industry. During the company's formative years, Mitzi managed the entire operation, while Freddie focused on teaching and business development. Mitzi continues to work with Freddie and the executive team to support the BetterTrades vision and to offer ideas for expansion. A native of West Virginia, Mitzi is a former small business owner, who returned to college (and posted a 4.0 grade-point average) while raising three children. She is particularly fond of spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.

Doug Williamson, Vice President of Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Doug is responsible for creating and executing the firm's operational plan. In addition to managing the day to day operations of the firm, Doug is also responsible for directing the sales organization and overseeing all company-sponsored events. As part of the executive team, he takes a leadership role in crafting company policy and managing the various department heads. Since joining BetterTrades in 2006, Doug has contributed significantly to the company's expansion. Doug is a graduate of Marshall University and spent six years with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where he became the youngest area manager in the state and earned a reputation for hard work and innovation. Born and raised in West Virginia, Doug and wife Amy have two sons, Garrett and Bentley.

Melissa White, Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Melissa oversees all the financial functions of the firm. She executes the firm's financial plan, which includes managing the accounting departments. A magna cum laude graduate from Marshall University and Life University, Melissa founded and managed a medical practice before joining the BetterTrades team in 2005. Melissa and her husband John have two children, Maggie and Connor. She enjoys spending time with her family and working in church, where she serves as children's director.
